One of our clients is the Ministry of Education. I have yet to see many distinct cultural differences in how government bureaucracy trips things up in the US and government bureaucracy tripping in Singapore. I'm sure to have more report as the months go on...
I tried to write about this picture for the rest of the week but couldn't find the words. I had to pause. I saw this man three days in a row with his tiny transistor radio (reverberating static-asian fusion) in different locations (always close to work) slumped over with his eyes closed. His tats were as close to anything publicly radical I've yet to see in censored Singapore.
This was my only picture taken today. It was from my cab ride home from work. I only take cabs when the Director of my office invites me to join her. She lives down the street. It's time for us to "talk shop". She was on the phone with a client and I was looking out the window. This very large yellow / orange 'Chinatown Point' building always hightlights this particular block. Not a particularly interesting picture nor blog entry. Guess that's the everyday of the everyday.
And this isn't the half of it! I went to work earlier than usual today - rush hour! There are a few tactics that the NY MTA could learn from the Singapore MRT. First, electric turnstiles for exiting commuters and entering commuters that adjust directional turn based on traffic flows - brilliant! Benches throughout the station - brilliant! Tap cards instead of swipe cards - brilliant! Just to name a few...
